This new 110kva AKSA Diesel Generator has been supplied to Hutton Stone Ltd at Berwick on Tweed to run two new stone cutting saws. This unit will run a 40hr week until the mains transformer is uprated when it will become an AMF standby machine. Downtime due to power cuts are costly to Hutton Stone and the generator will ensure that production is not affected by mains power failures.It has a Perkins 1104 engine and a Newage Stamford alternator with a DSE control panel, we retro-fitted this machine with a PMG and an MX341 voltage regulator to give better motor starting characteristics. A service contract has been agreed to ensure the longevity of this unit.
