We recently received a call from Mr Watt at the Bowes dairy farm in Cumnock, Ayrshire. A new cubicle shed and dairy unit had been built but the utility company had yet to provide a 3 phase supply to power it. With 160 cows to milk the pressure was on! We supplied a temporary generator whilst an FGWilson XD45 was prepared in our workshop as a permanent machine for the client, work included a full service, installing front and rear crankshaft oil seals and a refurbished main alternator, after which a full load test was carried out. Initially it will run at milking times and after mains electricity is installed it will become a duty standby machine.
